Cycling apparel brand Rapha recently announced a new line of 100% Italian made gear in commemoration of the 100th year of the Italian Grand Tour that kicked off last week. One of the stand-outs? The Rapha Coppi Pack Jacket.
Named after one of the most decorated cyclists ever, Fausto Coppi, each of the pieces in this line utilize special Italian manufacturing techniques paired with modern fabrics. The already existing City Pack Jacket from Rapha gets re-imagined in this collection as the Coppi Pack Jacket – featuring a ‘Vai Vai’ insignia on the left breast and a new material pulled from Rapha’s Brevet Insulated Gilet. This choice in material gives the jacket a glossy look and feel to it while retaining its windproof and water resistant qualities. Another addition to the riding shell is a distinctive rose-silver plated zipper that calls back to earlier days of cycling apparel. Like the City Jacket, this piece easily packs down to fit into the storage pocket of your jersey. Pairs best with steel frames and tension shifters.
