Since 1981, RAB has been producing premium outdoor garments with an immense focus on quality, cutting-edge materials, and rugged construction. And just ahead of the 2021 outdoor season, RAB has unveiled its latest innovation in the apparel space with the debut of its all-new Alpine Generator Jacket, a packable lightweight garment that perfectly encapsulates the company’s values.
Though it resembles your average insulated puffer, the Alpine Generator packs a few noteworthy tricks up its sleeve, with Primaloft Gold Insulation with Cross Core technology — an insulation material originally developed for use by NASA — and a Pertex Quantum Pro fabric shell that uses diamond-shaped threads in lieu of traditional round threads to achieve a much tighter weave and construction that affords markedly better water and abrasion-resistance. Weighing only 478 grams for a size medium, the jacket also features an adjustable helmet-compatible hood, articulated sleeves, YKK-zippered hand-warmer pockets, and a YKK VISLON main chest zipper with an insulated internal zip baffle. Collectively, these constructions, insulation, and amenities make for one of the warmest and most lightweight yet rugged packable jacket options on the market. Slated for a release in the Fall of 2021, the RAB Alpine Generator Jacket will be priced at $300.
