Spending 11 years as an enlisted service member in the United States Marine Corps gave R. Lee Ermey an arsenal of knowledge when acting as Sergeant Hartman in Full Metal Jacket, but also proved valuable working in the knife industry later in life. Before his passing in 2018, Ermey was able to apply this first-hand experience directly to the design of his final piece, the KA-BAR Gunny fixed blade knife.
Developed with the intent to provide utility in any environment, the Gunny Knife features a 9.75” spear point blade in 1095 Cro-Van steel mated to a beautiful multi-colored Webb wood scales and is completely made in the USA. With its curved handle providing additional leverage for excellent slashing utility, this blade has no problems clearing a path through even the densest vegetation, making the Gunny a solid companion for off the grid adventures. Each knife includes an elegant leather sheath, also made in the USA, and a portion of each sale is contributed towards the Fisher House Foundation, which provides housing for military members and their families while receiving care from VA medical centers, a favorite charity of the Gunny himself.
