Timex Is Reissuing An Affordable & Elegant Dive-Inspired 1970s Watch

While they are widely considered a budget brand, Timex is undoubtedly still one of the most prolific watch manufacturers in the world. And they’ve been at it for a long time — long enough that they’re going to be reviving one of their most legendary timepieces, the Q Timex, for the modern era.

Originally unveiled in 1979, the dive-inspired Q Timex was not the brand’s first quartz timepiece, but it was one of their most influential devices to use the new-at-the-time technology. And this reissue captures every exacting detail of the original in spectacular fashion — from its Pepsi bezel, to the period-correct woven stainless steel bracelet, to the luminescent index paint. They even included the functional battery hatch on the caseback for simplified at-home battery replacement. Available now for just $179, this retro redux is likely to fly off the shelves in no time flat.
