Punkraft Bar In Ukraine

Dec 5, 2018

Category: Living

When we think of Ukraine, nothing stands out more than its amazing architecture, historical culture, and world-class nightlife. The Punkraft Bar by the Kyiv-based Ater Architects is a perfect representation of all three attributes, pulling inspiration from Ukraine’s most notable characteristics to create a truly unique space within the bustling city.

Punkraft was originally a cocktail bar and has since adopted a craft-beer approach to its already-prevalent business model. The architects at Ater were tasked with creating a space that captured the rebellious nature of the craft movement, as well as the utilization of traditional beer equipment. The result was a beautifully designed bar chock full of industrial design influence, a large portion of which pays homage to the recent rise in craft popularity. Tactile materials are placed within the main areas of the space to provide a warm, inviting ambiance, as well as oak wood countertops, a curved brick facade, muted lights, and textiles that add to the bar’s gritty, mid-city atmosphere.
