Toast To Inauguration Day With These Limited ‘Presidential’ Whiskey Drams

Jan 20, 2021

Category: Vices

With its unprecedented voter turnout, the widespread use of mail-in ballots, and seemingly endless final tally, the 2020 Presidential election will forever be one to remember. However, we’ve made it to January 20th, which means that Inauguration Day is finally here. Just for the occasion, Proof and Wood has announced a pair of limited-edition whiskeys to welcome #46 to office.

They’re calling them the ‘Presidential Drams,’ and, in keeping with custom, they’re available in ‘One-Term’ and ‘Two-Term’ varieties. The former is a Straight Bourbon distilled at Indiana’s MGP distillery and aged for a minimum of 4 years. Bottled at 113-117.6 proof, it features a nose with sweet notes of apple, honey, and peach cobbler. Add to that a finish with lingering flavors of caramel and spice, it makes for a fitting inaugural homage. And when it comes to the ‘Two Term,’ Proof and Wood has crafted an 8-year Single Barrel Rye. Clocking in at 122.4-124 proof, it’s surprisingly smooth and easy to drink for its strength. Both bottles will come sealed with blue and red wax as well as a commemorative label to suit. With only 20 barrels of the One-Term and four barrels of the Two-Term available, you’ll have to hurry if you want some.
