While Adidas is no stranger to collaborative efforts, Prada has largely resisted the temptation, instead opting to go it alone in order to build its own chic aesthetic. However, the pair have worked together in the past; just a few months ago, Prada overhauled the iconic Superstar as part of its second drop to feature the three stripes.
With the official unveiling of the long-awaited Luna Rossa 21, the two brands are showing off an entirely new silhouette. And although it appears to be a Prada parade on the outside, under the hood it packs plenty of Adidas tech (after all, it was designed for the Luna Rossa sailing team). Up top, it features Adidas Primegreen, a high-performance fabric made from a series of recycled materials. Wrapped in a flexible E-TPU outer shell, the Luna Rossa 21 it’ll not only be lightweight and breathable; it’ll also be tough and water-repellent. Inside, the shoe comes with a padded EVA tongue and a suede interior, ensuring an experience that’s as comfortable as it is luxe. Riding on a BOOST midsole paired with a wraparound outsole, it promises all the performance benefits of Adidas running shoes, optimized for sailing. Available December 9th for $660.
