Travis Durden most recently made waves when he showcased many of the timeless figures from Star Wars as Greek statues. Now he has teamed up with a series of photographers and special effects experts to show you a world in which Batman is still fighting crime in a world that has fallen.
The photographs depict a bleak, forgotten realm where gas stations, concert halls, and even government buildings stand hollow and derelict. Presumably inured from this destruction by his immense wealth, the life of of the vigilante Dark Knight seems to have taken a distinctly morbid turn in this photo series. Rather than being depicted in action, Batman’s presence is more often seen in areas that show abandonment and disuse. The point of the piece, say some, may be to show the fall of archetypes and how without civilization, heroes are merely lonesome, homeless myths.
