Porsche has always given its customers a good deal of control over the personalization of their car, offering a range of bespoke services through its Exclusive Manufaktur, Tequipment, and Classic divisions. Apparently, even those options aren’t enough for the pickiest of Stuttgart disciples, because the German automaker has just announced its most ambitious personalization initiative yet.
Along with reviving its Sonderwunsch (special request) program from the 1970s, Porsche will also be expanding each of its three customization services so that buyers can make their vehicles more unique than ever. For instance, as part of the Co-Creation Strategy, customers will be able to design a completely one-off car and have it professionally realized in a Porsche factory. What’s more, the Exclusive Manufaktur has been expanded to include such options as exterior wraps, individualized numbering, and even embossed signatures. But the best part is that through its updated Performance Parts range, Porsche will now offer components for new, pre-owned, and even classic vehicles — all available directly within its Car Configurator.
