Porsche’s Newest Film Documents Two Of Racing’s Most Grueling GT Circuits
Like any other competitive sport, automotive racing has its favorites, its rivals, and its upsets. It also has its preferred venues. For decades, two of the genre’s most iconic tracks — Le Mans and Nürburgring — have served to test the mettle of the racing world’s professional drivers, and now, director James Routh has crafted an artful documentary revolving around Porsche’s approach to one of its most grueling GT race periods.
Harkening back to the exciting but dramatic season that took place throughout 2019, Routh’s 90-minute documentary, titled ENDURANCE, gives interested viewers a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to become one of the world’s most reputable race teams. The film follows Porsche’s professional outfit as it prepares to take on two of the circuit’s most grueling 24-hour GT-series races, back to back. From the long hours spent on test tracks in Italy and Germany, all the way to the aforementioned race weekend, the company’s legendary 911 RSR and 911 GT3 R take center-stage, while team drivers Kévin Estre, Michael Christensen, Laurens Vanthoor, and Matt Campbell provide impressions and commentary on key points of preparation. Head to Youtube, where you’ll be able to watch the full 90-minute documentary for free.
