After unveiling a pair of magnesium-shelled laptop models in late 2019, Porsche Design has revealed an even more impressive laptop with more powerful hardware and a completely redesigned body.
Dubbed the “Porsche Design Acer Book RS,” this new was co-developed by the Taiwan-based technology firm and features an FHD 14″ IPS3 seamless touch display encompassed by a solid aluminum housing and fortified beneath an Antimicrobial4 Corning Gorilla Glass lens. Weighing only 2.76lbs, this lightweight laptop boasts ultra-thin bezels and a 90% screen-to-body ratio, too. Packing an 11th-gen Intel Core i7 processor and up to 1TB of storage, the Porsche Design Acer Book RS is built around a solid magnesium body with genuine carbon fiber inlays. There’s also an Intel Iris Xe graphics card, and optional discrete NVIDIA GeForce MX350 GPUs, a fingerprint-sensor-equipped touchpad, HDMI, USB-C, and headphones (1/8” jack) ports, and a battery that allows for 17 hours of continuous use and can receive a four-hour charge in only half-an-hour. Porsche Design is currently offering an early bird special for $2,450 that includes a limited-edition three-piece travel set containing the laptop, a leather travel sleeve, and a matching carbon Acer Mouse RS.
