Porsche’s 1919 Flyback Is A 911-Inspired 100% Titanium Watch

Porsche Design has always had a special relationship with the horology world. First formed in the early 1970s by  Ferdinand Alexander Porsche — the legendary designer behind the wildly-iconic 911 model — Porsche Design’s inaugural offering was a wristwatch. And over the last half-century timepieces have remained a consistent staple amongst the auto brand’s subdivision, with the latest being the blue and leather 1919 Chronotimer Flyback.

An updated version of the model by the same name that was originally released in March of 2018, the 1919 Chronotimer Flyback sports a design celebrating classic car aesthetics. The watch is constructed around a bead-blasted and polished 42mm titanium case — with matching chronograph pushers — and powered by a caliber WERK 01.200 — Porsche Design’s first in-house movement. Unique to the newest version of the Flyback is a blue calfskin band complimented with grey stitching made from the same leather used in the German marque’s auto upholstery. Matching the blue band is a two-tone blue dial with white markers. This vintage race-themed watch is currently available from Porsche Design with pricing set at $6,350.
