It’s been more than a year since Porsche’s 992 was first unveiled to the public. But now the German marque has finally announced the very first special edition version of this speedy, modern 911. And, fittingly, it pays tribute to one of the greatest racers to ever hit the pavement.
Called the ‘Belgian Legend Edition,’ this 911 Carrera 4S was released to coincide with the 75th birthday of none other than Jacky Ickx — the six-time Le Mans and 8-time Formula One champion. While the baseline vehicle is already impressive with its twin-turbo flat-six 444hp engine, this deluxe example ups the ante even further courtesy of a suite of luxurious styling additions. That includes a paint scheme inspired by Ickx’s blue-and-white signature helmet — making this the first vehicle to be released through Porsche’s coveted Paint To Sample program. It also gets black leather upholstery and trims in the interior, specialized ‘X’ shaped stitching, and more. The marque’s Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur in-house sub-brand is only set to build 75 of these vehicles, available exclusively in Belgium. Pricing and a release date have yet to be unveiled.
