The Philips SmartSleep Band Gets Your Snoring Under Control

Snoring may seem like a minor annoyance, but in addition to bothering your significant other, it can also be associated with health problems like sleep apnea. The SmartSleep Snoring Relief Band is here to remedy the problem so you and your partner can get a restful night’s sleep.

Typically, people snore when they are lying on their back, but not on their side. When you sleep on your back, there’s a tendency for your tongue to fall backward and block the air passage located at your oral pharynx. But your tongue doesn’t roll back and block the pathway when you sleep on your side. So through gentle vibrations, which aren’t obtrusive enough to wake you up, the SmartSleep Snoring Relief Band prompts you to sleep on your side. The device has the ability to analyze your sleep patterns and determine the most opportune time to provide the gentle nudge. There’s no word yet on the price of the band, but more information should be coming soon at IFA 2019 in September.
