Peter Baeten’s Got Chess? Flat Chess Set
The only way going to the park once a week to play an old guy in chess while the two of you sip Yoo-hoos could be cooler, would be to go with Peter Baeten’s Got Chess? chess set tucked under your arm.
It looks like a classic leather notebook, but Got Chess is a fully functional chess set, just stripped down to its essentials. The flat laser cut wooden pieces are hand varnished, and while they look great from head on, anyone standing to the side will have no idea which pieces are which due to their slender silhouettes. The leather cover is functional as well, as it opens up and serves as a pad to play on. Don’t bother looking for any screws, hinges, glue, or any assembly directions—it’s all ready to go. Unfortunately, you also shouldn’t look for a way to pay for it yet, but Baeten’s working on making it available for purchase.
