Though the show originally aired as a two-part mini-series on a Spanish television network, after ‘Money Heist’ — or ‘Casa Del Papel’ as it was originally known — had its worldwide streaming rights acquired by Netflix in 2017, it became one of the streaming service’s most-watched shows on the planet. And now, as the highly-anticipated fourth season is being released, the show has announced a side joint-effort with eyewear outfit, Persol, in the form of a limited edition run of glasses based on the spectacles worn on the show by Sergio Marquina, aka “The Professor.”
The collaborative collection is comprised of two models, the “El Professor Original” optical frames and the “El Professor Sergio” sunglasses. Both pairs are offered in tortoise or black and each are handmade in Italy. There’s also a limited edition version — the “La Casa de Papel” — which boasts 24K gold-plated lenses. Each pair of glasses also comes in a special gift box that’s been made to look like a bar of gold, while its interior is lined with blueprints from the Royal Mint of Spain (that the Professor and his team take over on the show). The Persol x Casa de Papel Glasses Collection is available now, with pricing starting at $317, and going up to $367.
