Beer has long been the de-facto choice of beverage when barbecuing during the warmer months, wonderfully complimenting the flavor of burgers, hotdogs, and other grilling staples. And while condiments have always been a key part in this equation, it’s never been in as direct of a capacity as Oskar Blues’ latest release, the French’s Mustard Beer.
Created to celebrate National Mustard Day on August 1st, the French’s x Oskar Blues beer is a tropical wheat brew infused with flavors like lemon, key lime, tangerine, and passion fruit — all of which were selected for their ability to pair with the distinct flavor of French’s classic yellow mustard. Boasting a 5.2% ABV, the beer sits at the lighter end of the spectrum and features an overall tart, yet fruity taste and profile. In conjunction with the release of this limited edition summer beer, the Lyons, Colorado Brewery and French’s have also created numerous recipes using the yellow condiment and the new beer, such as Scottish Ale Beer Cheese Dip or Pale Ale Mustard BBQ Pulled Chicken Sandwiches. The Oskar Blues French’s Mustard Beer is available now for a limited time, with six-packs going for around $20.
