When a brand has been making killer everyday carry gear for over a century, you can probably trust in the quality of their products. At least, that’s the case with Opinel – the brand behind the superb No. 8 Outdoor Survival Pocket Knife.

Since 1890, the folks at Opinel have been making quality folding knives. This one is no exception – unless being extra rugged counts as an exception. Built with the backcountry in mind, it features a partially serrated Sandvik 12C27 steel blade, the brand’s signature Virobloc safety ring lock, and a fiberglass reinforced polyamide handle. For reference, that handle material is shock, humidity, and extreme temperature resistant. And, as if that’s enough, there’s also a 4-10mm shackle key built into the blade and a 110 decibel all-weather emergency whistle at the base of the handle. Get a grip on this ultimate outdoor knife in any of three colors for just $35.
