Opinel No. 12 Explore Knife
Meet the Opinel No. 12 Explore, the first ever survival knife designed by the French knife makers. We’re all familiar with their other successful offerings in the knife world, known for high-quality design and execution without the premium price tag. Now you can take one with you during your next camping trip as they boast more than just basic functionality.
Each 10cm-long blade is made from Sandvik 12C27 modified stainless steel. It requires no special maintenance and is anti-corrosive thanks to the chrome addition. Also the handle, built from fiberglass-reinforced polyamide, can withstand humidity, shocks, and extreme temperatures. It also hosts a survival whistle that hits 110 decibels, incorporates a FireSteel for striking sparks, and a removable gut hook that makes this Opinel a fantastic camping, field kitchen, or hunting knife. The No. 12 Explore also features their Virobloc safety ring, cut out of stainless steel and hosting a fixed and sliding section. Therefore it locks in both open and closed positions for safety in use and in transport. Opinel’s new knife will retail for $49. [Purchase]
