In this day and age, there are more high-tech ways to navigate the world than ever before. Currently, the app is only available for Android users — but there is an iOS version on the way. But once you look past that minor, temporary drawback, this is one of the most herculean bits of tech available outside of a standalone device. That’s because this app gives you the ability to navigate a whopping 985 million acres of public lands and trek over more than 240,000 miles of open roads and trails — all courtesy of its easy-to-use topo maps. Like Google Maps, this app also lets you choose your method of travel for appropriate pathfinding; however, the selections are more off-road appropriate — including dirt bikes, ATVs, 4x4s, and overlanders. Best of all, the GPS functionality still works even if you’re outside of cell service range. Pricing for onX Offroad is set at $4 a month or $30 for the year.
