OKC’s First 2020 EDC Knife Is An Elegant Micarta & Titanium USA-Made Flipper
With over 130 years of experience under their belts and a history of crafting ultra-tough knives for military and outdoor usage, OKC (Ontario Knife Company) is one of the most trusted knifemaking brands around. And they just announced their first big release for 2020: a utility-focused everyday carry flipper called the Shikra.
Proudly manufactured in the USA, the Shikra boasts a relatively minimalist and straightforward silhouette marked by an ergonomic handle and a versatile drop point blade. However, don’t let that fool you — it’s also built using some impressive premium materials. For starters, the blade is black-finished AUS-8 steel, making for a durable and easy-to-maintain edge perfect for hard utilitarian tasks. The star of the show, however, might be the handle — which features a textured Micarta scale on one side and a titanium frame lock scale on the other, promising a comfortable grip and the kind of durability you’d want out of a knife that will last for decades of use. Pricing and availability of this 7.2″ EDC knife have yet to be unveiled, but it should be hitting shelves soon.
