First introduced back in 1870, Old Forester bourbon was an immediate hit among the imbibing crowd that frequented Louisville’s Whiskey Row. Since then, their reputation as America’s First Bottled Bourbon has grown significantly, culminating in specialized tribute releases like the bottle you see before you.
Dubbed Old Forester Statesman, this specialty-made batch was inspired by the upcoming film Kingsman: The Golden Circle. It’s a 95 proof variant – named after the American secret service counterparts in the film – that’s hand-selected from 4-6-year-old casks of their Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. And since it’s proven these guys can stand up to the pressure, Statesman offers a little bit of heat and spice, compliments of peppery notes, cinnamon bark, and citrus on the palate along with some hefty spice and eucalyptus on the back end fading into orange cream and caramel. Interested bourbon fans can pick up a bottle of their own now at select locations.
