Oil Drum Chairs

For the past few years if you’ve seen the word ‘reclaimed’ or ‘recycled’ as a prefix on any piece of furniture it has likely referred some gnarled wood salvaged from a lumber yard or barn and then turned into a chair or table. It isn’t that we are not fans of this general approach, it is just that the whole reclaimed wood thing has gotten tired. White’s Modern, on the other hand, has taken a decidedly different approach to reclaimed furniture with their Oil Drum chairs.

Tom and John white are both designers and fabricators who have fostered a lifelong love of great furniture. The father and son team have decades of combined experience that they’ve brought to this endeavor of cleaning and cutting down old steel drums into chairs in their Idaho based workshop. Weather you are looking for something that’ll look right at home in your own home workshop, or you want to add a bit of an industrial flavor to your own home – they have a wide variety for you to choose from. Prices range project to project, but generally start at $300. [Purchase]
