Octovo Tilley Surfboards
Grown men, scratch that, no one should get misty-eyed at a video of a guy making a surfboard, but we’re big enough to admit the promotional clip for Octovo Tilley Surfboards made us clear out throats once or twice.
We’re blaming the meticulous attention to detail that these boards are made with by master surfboard builder Jason Tilley in Port Orford, Oregon. Tilley combines local, custom milled wooden skins and components with hand-shaped foam to produce these beautiful creatures. Each board gets original graphic and paint schemes, along with custom leash cups cast in either bronze or titanium. The final touch is a tailored and balanced carrying bag made from leather and tough UV-resistant fabric that gets lined with a combination of waterproof, breathable, shock resistant and temperature insulating materials. Grab a Kleenex and go hang 10. [Purchase]
