Oakley Brings Back Their Iconic Romeo & Juliet Frames, Now In Titanium

Oakley threw down the ‘90s sports style gauntlet back in 1997 when they released the Romeo, the first in the brand’s now-iconic line of sculptural X-Metal frames. Romeo was followed shortly afterward by the Juliet, and now, both frames are being reissued and offered together in a very special limited edition package.

The Oakley MUZM Series 1875 X Metal Edition pairs Romeo and Juliet together for the first time, but in updated guises for the 21st century. The frames are now 3D-printed titanium and are fitted with Oakley’s detail-enhancing Prizm polarized lenses. But that’s not all. This set is limited to just 14 pieces, and includes several add-ons like a collector’s coin, a booklet about the history of the frames, and a custom box. There’s also the signatures of two NBA players within: Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen, who rocked X-Metal Oakleys back in the ‘90s, and Portland Trailblazers star Damian Lillard, who’s a current Oakley ambassador. The limited-edition sets cost a whopping $14,000, but there’s a good reason for the high price tag: Oakley is donating $140,000 of the proceeds to Lillard’s high school-focused charity, RESPECT.
