For years rumors about a N.W.A. biopic have been swirling around the blogosphere, and just when fans started thinking it would never see the light of day – we got our hands on the first official Red Band trailer for ‘Straight Outta Compton.’

The film was directed by F. Gary Gray (the same man responsible for Friday, Set It Off and The Italian Job) and stars O-Shea Jackson Jr. (Ice Cube’s son playing Ice Cube himself), Corey Hawkins and Jason Mitchell. The movie was executive produced by Will Packer (alongside Gray), and produced by Matt Alvarez, Tomica Woods-Wright and original N.W.A. members Ice Cube and Dr. Dre – who are both featured in the beginning of the trailer. The Red Band trailer premiered during the 57th annual Grammy Awards last night, and includes cameos by fellow Compton rappers Game and Kendrick Lamar. The movie will be released on August 14th, 2015 in theaters everywhere.
