Nuviz Motorcycle HUD

Most car manufacturers have started to integrate their dashboard dial information into windshield-projected formats. It’s just safer and easier to have all the information in the driver’s line-of-sight. Unfortunately, if you take to anything without a windscreen – like a motorcycle – you’ve been out of luck. Until now.

Nuviz has introduced a digital HUD (heads-up display) designed specifically for full-face motorcycle helmets. Now, this isn’t the only HUD for bike helmets, but it is unique in that it is a separate unit that can be attached or removed from most full-face bike helmets – allowing users to swap it between their helmets as-needed. When attached, it (and the handlebar-mountable control module) syncs with either an Android or iOS device and projects a “floating” display in the rider’s line of sight that can show everything from the time, to speed, to live GPS navigation, and more. It even has a built-in HD action camera that can collect 8 megapixel images and/or 1080p/30fps video. And it’s all powered by a lithium-ion battery, giving the device 8 hours of runtime. You can preorder one now for $699 or sign up for monthly payments as low as $62/month.
