Nokia’s 8.3 5G Is The World’s First Globally-Connected 5G Smartphone

While Nokia isn’t the telecoms hardware powerhouse that it once was back in the glory days of the 3310-era, the now Finnish-owned outfit is looking to reestablish dominance in the mobile sector via the release of what is being touted as the world’s first-ever global flagship smartphone with the all-new Nokia 8.3 5G.

As the name suggests, the 8.3 5G is a 5G network-compatible smartphone, though unlike the other 5G-enabled offerings on the market, the new Nokia unit is said to work on every 5G network on the planet, meaning you’ll always get the best possible coverage no matter where you’re traveling. Reportedly the first phone to be delivered with Qualcomm’s 5G radio frequency front-end module — which features 40 RF components crammed into a single module — this cutting-edge smartphone also gets a Snapdragon 765G processor and up to 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM (or the cheaper 64GB or storage and 6GB of ram option). The phone is also bestowed with a 64 megapixel Zeiss-lensed camera with a self-stabilizing 60FPS “Action Cam Mode”, as well as a 12megapixel ultra-wide camera that can record 4K video in low light settings. The Nokia 8.3 5G is slated a summer release, with pricing set at around the $650 mark.
