Nixie Wearable Flying Camera

No matter how popular it may become, the handheld selfie’s reputation will always be closely tied to the self-obsessed teenager, and that’s just not cool—especially for a grown man. But a self-portrait from your personal quadcopter hovering 20 feet above you? No one can deny the cool factor in that, and it looks like that day is coming.

Nixie is actually a tiny camera incorporated into a wrist band which, when the moment strikes you, can unfold to create a quadcopter that flies, takes photos or video, and then comes back to you. It’s still in the development phase, but the fact that it’s made it to the finals of Intel’s Make It Wearable contest bodes quite well for the little guy’s future.
