Pretty much every champion F1 driver in modern history began their racing careers on the kart track, which is why Ninebot has just given the next generation of young drivers the ultimate springboard to success with a new, up-specced version of its Red Dot Design Award-winning electric go-kart model dubbed the Ninebot Gokart PRO.

Outfitted with a handbrake, drift-specific rear tires and super-grippy front shoes, the Pro-spec kart boasts rear-wheel hub motors that are independently connected and can offer different power outputs when in drift mode to maximize the ability to get sideways. The powertrain is rated for 4,800W (or 6.4hp) and a whopping 70.8ft-lbs of torque and allows the kart to clock more than a G of acceleration and a 23mph top speed, while a 432Wh battery affords a 15.5-mile range. In addition to smartphone app connectivity, a rear wing, adjustable seat and steering wheel, and metal pedals, the Pro model also includes a synthesized engine noise generator that lets users select from sounds varying from a single-cylinder mill up to a V-12. Limited to 500 units for the initial production run, the Ninebot Gokart PRO is available on IndieGoGo starting from $1,499, with shipping slated to commence in November of 2020.

Indiegogo: $1,499+
