Perhaps the last frontier for hybrid vehicles to conquer is the off-road segment. Most people pigeonhole hybrids as being strictly for daily commuters in an urban environment, but how about bypassing the asphalt altogether?

That’s what the Nimbus e-Car promises to do. Created by Brazilian artist and designer, Eduardo Galvani, this eco-conscious, all-terrain minibus is in the concept stage, but it could be a reality for the guy who wants to go green while going through the browns (that’d be dirt) and greens (grass) of nature. A 130Kw (180 hp) electrical engine with a lithium-ion battery is paired with the vehicle’s micro combustion generator. On the roof, solar photovoltaic cells generate even more energy, while a regenerative brake conserves as much as possible. The body is made with carbon fiber, titanium and aluminum to offer lightweight flexibility and strength, while the cabin tech includes an onboard Wi-Ffi hub, several USB ports, power outlets, and a 7-inch tablet in the center console that displays vital info.
