Nike continues to push the envelope on their trainers, unveiling a sneaker inspired by the payaaqek – a native Alaskan boot. Meet the minimalist Nikelab Payaa.

The low top silhouette is constructed from a single-piece, stretchy mesh and neoprene upper designed to fit just like a sock, offering up all day comfort and optimum breathability. The shoe is outfitted with a lightweight lace system for additional tie down support. Nike also cored out the outsole, which not only helps the sneaker shed even more weight, but also enhances flexibility. A leather insole and foam collar round things out on the inside of the shoe, providing premium comfort that will last all day. The shoe retails for $100. [Purchase]
