As we get ever-closer to winter, the temperatures will continue to drop and the weather will continue to worsen. It’s a reality we runners have to come to terms with unless we plan on hanging up our shoes — even if it makes slogging through those morning miles a bit of a chore.
Taking three of its best-performing daily trainers — the Pegasus Trail 2, the Pegasus 37, and the React Miler — Nike has updated each one with some weatherproof tech ready for the worst winter has to offer. With its GORE-TEX invisible fit upper and improved heel and toe traction, the Peg Trail 2 will keep your feet dry and firmly planted. So whether you’re scaling a climb or bombing a hill, you can count on consistent, predictable grip. Also joining the lineup is the Pegasus 37 Shield and React Miler Shield, two cold weather silhouettes designed specifically for wet roads. Featuring outsoles inspired by all-terrain car tires, both shoes come with a traction pattern optimized for water-channeling performance. Up top, each Shield model is wrapped in a water-resistant shroud upper to keep your feet warm and soak-free. Though pricing has yet to be announced, they’ll be available later this October.
