Nike RISE House of Mamba LED Basketball Court

Remember the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, and how China blew the doors off the joint with the opening ceremonies? Yeah, we remember that too. It was awesome.

Anyways, yes, a smidgen of that same magic is now on display in Shanghai as Nike has built the craziest basketball court you’ve ever seen, with motion-tracking and reactive LED visualization technology built into the floor. It’s called the House of Mamba, and yeah, if you know hoops, you know that’s a reference to Lakers legend Kobe Bryant. Besides dazzling our senses, the lit floor is designed to help Kobe and other stars teach their techniques to young Chinese players, as the court can display targets, virtual opponents, stats and more. It’s all part of the Nike RISE campaign, which focuses on a competition for young ballers to win a chance to play in the Nike World Basketball Festival in Barcelona in September.
