If you’re a connoisseur of the vastly-evolving shoe space, you’ve probably been clued-in when it comes to the work ethic of footwear’s largest proprietor, Nike. Alongside a bevy of recent releases and announcements from the athletic giant, a newly-adapted hightop has been revealed — spearheading the brand’s rugged new THE10TH collection.
The React Ianga is set to steal the spotlight with a handful of technical updates that reference Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman’s time as a member of the United States Army. Alongside a collection of other peripherals paying homage to the 10th Mountain Division, the Ianga includes contrasting textiles on the toe and heel, black leather and suede, and layered canvas. To complement the dark, shadow-imbued tonal range, an earthy midsole and wheat-hued inlays have been stitched with care, adorning the midsection and rear of the shoe. As far as branding is concerned, a subtle pull tab referencing THE10TH collection and a minimalistic Swoosh at the throat provide all of the low-key pleasantries you’re looking for. You’ll be able to find the React Ianga at participating retailers in September for $145.
