Nike’s go-to cross-trainer, and what we consider as just about the best silhouette out there for hitting the gym in, has just gotten a big update. Introducing the Nike Metcon 3 DSX Flyknit.
When the Portland, Oregon based athletic company first introduced their Metcon line three years ago, it was intended to be an all-around shoe for everything from straight weightlifting to more creative HIIT workouts. This new iteration looks to improve on the already well regarded design – with its firm heel counter, extra grippy rubber in the forefoot, 4mm offset, and outsole wrap – by adding the brand’s revolutionary Flyknit upper with Flywire integration and adding a couple millimeters to the offset. Along with the updated upper, the sportswear behemoth has added in a dual density outsole as well as an articulated cushioning system for better, more lightweight support. Now no matter what the WOD is, whether running a mile and grinding out 100 pushups, or hitting a new squat P.R. the light, dynamic fit of the Flywire, combined with the well thought-through features of this shoe will be more than up to the task. These are expected to be released for purchase via Nike’s website on January 2nd where they’ll likely retail for north of $130. [Purchase]
