Reebok Teams With NERF For The Most ‘90s Sneaker Collection Ever

Even though the 1990s ended more than 22 years ago, the decade remains a major source of nostalgic influence on the culture of today. Most of the time, that influence is rather subtle, but once in a while, we’ll see a modern product with such an absurdly high degree of ‘90s-ness that it puts the actual ‘90s to shame. And that’s exactly what we have in the new NERF x Reebok collection.

NERF and Reebok have teamed up for a collection of retro basketball shoes, and it is quite possibly the most ‘90s thing we’ve ever seen. The series resurrects classic Reebok silhouettes from the decade and splashes them with loads of bright neon colors and NERF branding. These would look right at home on the feet of a 10-year-old in ‘96 strutting into a Chuck E. Cheese for a Space Jam-themed birthday party. In other words, they’re awesome. The collection includes Shawn Kemp’s old signature shoe, the Kamikaze II, in both low- and mid-top variants, as well as two colorways of Dee Brown’s classic Pump Omni Zone II. The “Big Bad Backboard” Pump is inspired by the ‘90s Nerfoop of the same name, while the “Light Jammer” Pump actually glows in the dark. The collection will be released exclusively to Hasbro Pulse and Reebok UNLOCKED members on June 24 before getting a wide release on June 25.
