Just when we thought the retro gaming fad had started to peter off, another once-major player enters the fray and gets us excited about the category once again. This time, it’s the folks at SNK — makers of legendary game franchises like Fatal Fury, King of Fighters, and Samurai Shodown — who have unleashed their NEOGEO Arcade Stick Pro.
As you might’ve guessed from the brand’s catalog, this plug-and-play retro standalone gaming console is geared specifically toward fans of the fighting game genre. In fact, the brand is promising 20 built-in SNK fighting games at launch — although they have yet to unveil which ones. They are, however, promising HDMI output, as well as compatibility with the brand’s NEOGEO mini or PC, mini PAD controllers, and the ability to sync with a second Arcade Stick Pro. There’s no price or release date yet, so stay tuned for more information.
