Both National Geographic and Vans have been knocking it out of the park with their most recent collaborations, but, like many, we’ve been waiting for the dynamic duo to link up or a drop of their own. Now, our prayers have been answered by way of a five-piece footwear collection, including branded and photographic takes on Vans’ Era, Slip-On, Authentic, Sk8-Hi, and Old Skool silhouettes.
This isn’t just a half-hearted plug-and-play partnership, either. To celebrate over 130 years of exploratory pursuit, each shoe depicts an interesting figment of National Geographic’s work, like the Authentic, which calls upon an entire suite of yellow-bordered National Geographic magazine covers, the Mexican Grey Wolf/Red-Eyed Tree Frog-adorned Old Skool, and the more subdued Sk8-Hi, which opts for Nat-Geo branding, and nothing else. Last, but not least, the collection’s Era and Slip-On arrive as its more marine-focused offerings, providing interesting takes on the Pine Island Glacier, and ocean, as well as coordinate-covered soles. Head to the 43einhalb’s website to get a sneak peek at the capsule prior to launch, which will start at $82 per pair.
