Naim Launches Its First-Ever Turntable, Dubbed The ‘Solstice Special Edition’

Naim is renowned for making some of the best audio equipment in the world, but in the brand’s 48-year history, they have shockingly never produced a turntable. Until now, that is. Naim has announced the Solstice Special Edition, a ridiculously high-end turntable that is limited to 500 units and priced at more than $20,000.

The Solstice Special Edition features all of the over-engineering, hi-fi capabilities, and beautiful design you would expect from a Naim product, with features like a magnetic bearing-supported highly-polished aluminum platter, a plinth made from 47 separate layers of wood, and a self-calibrating motor drive system. It also features a brand-new version of the brand’s iconic Naim Aro tonearm that maintains the overall design of the ‘80s original but upgrades the tech and materials. Also included are an Equinox MC cartridge and the specially-designed Solstice Series Phono Stage, Power Supply, and bespoke accessories set. While the turntable will reportedly be for sale in select U.S. retailers later this summer for $20,000, it is currently only available for in-person pre-orders from UK stores for £16,000 (~$22,285).
