Naglev Introduces A Waterproof Hightop Version Of Its Kevlar Unico Hiking Boots

Northern Italy has a long history of handcrafting shoes for export dating back to the Middle Ages, and in 2018, the region’s Morlin family opted to continue the local tradition with the launch of Naglev (or “Natural Glocal Evolution”). Naglev’s inaugural product was the Unico: a rugged yet flexible pair of hiking boots adorned in single-piece Kevlar-infused, TPU-coated uppers and sporting a wool, leather, and coconut fiber inner shell. And after the immense success of the company’s first model, Naglev has decided to introduce a followup offering with the full-length military-inspired Unico Combat Waterproof Boots.

Weighing less than 2.5lbs per pair, the new Combat Waterproof-spec replaces its predecessor’s low top design with a high-top construction that extends beyond its wearer’s ankles. The natural rubber outsole, dual-density EVA midsole, quick-lace system, and tanned leather and coconut fiber footbed all go unchanged, though its breathable wool lining is now backed by a fully-waterproof membrane. Pricing on the new model has yet to be announced, though we assume they will likely come in between the $225 and $275 mark considering the low top version’s roughly $200 MSRP.
