MTM Boosts Audi’s Sleek RS6 Sport Wagon To A Whopping 1,001HP

Hidden within most cars lies a wellspring of untapped potential — higher top speeds, sharper torque curves, and improved shifting performance. In most cases, we only see the tip of the proverbial iceberg; the rest is buried deep beneath stock ECU mapping and pesky performance limiters. Should you decide to delve into the OEM internals, well, you’ll find that there’s a world of upgrades ripe for the taking.

With such an understanding, German tuner MTM has recently launched its Stage 4 power upgrade for the Audi RS6. While the twin-turbo 4.0L V8 lays down an already-impressive 591hp straight out of the factory, MTM has discovered that there are actually far more horses to be had from the stock system. Featuring a reworked OEM ECU, as well as some upgraded turbochargers, MTM’s conversion boosts the RS6 to an incredible 1001hp. And don’t think the torque specs go untouched — the swap increases the stock car’s “meager” 590 ft. lbs of torque to a neck-breaking 958 ft. lbs. With these upgrades under the hood, the RS6 will do 0-60mph in a staggering 2.8s. As a bonus, the conversion is fully reversible — not that you’re likely to have a change of heart. Conversions will run you $43,599.
