MSR Guardian Water Purifier

We’ve all seen water purifiers before, but most of them are forgetting to purify one thing: viruses. Now, MSR has designed a device specifically for the US Military that eliminates not only bacteria, but viruses as well.

The Guardian Water Purifier acts as both a filter and a purifier, and claims to eliminate all biological threats found in natural water sources. It doesn’t use any chemicals, batteries, UV light or carbon, and it cleans itself. It uses a hollow-fiber structure made of advanced medical-grade fibers that are woven tight enough to block the smallest microbiological elements. The fiber can stand up to freezing temperatures, and the device is able to handle drops from up to six feet onto concrete, as well as 300 pounds of force. The device will be available to the public in January 2016 for the price of $350. [Purchase]
