Since first hitting the market in 2016, Colorado’s Roofnest has quickly become one of the most eminent names in the rooftop tent segment with a steadily growing catalog of increasingly rugged and capable roof-mounted shelters. And for 2022, the Boulder-based business is continuing this trend with the reveal of Roofnest’s latest halo product, the 2022 Falcon Pro.
The result is a rooftop tent that’s better in just about every measurable area, being stronger, more spacious, and more aerodynamic, as well as better looking. Unlike the previous Falcon and Falcon XL tents — which boast flat top shells — the 2022 Pro-spec features a sculpted aluminum unit with a convex shape that, when combined with a deeper bottom shell, affords a much greater interior volume. Capable of accommodating a light bed even when closed, the Falcon Pro also features a 2.5” memory foam mattress with a machine-washable, quilted cover, 50% larger rainfly-protected windows, an integrated skylight, and a more rugged waterproof 280g poly-cotton tent. The tent also gets double-action latches that make opening and closing significantly easier, LED light strips, crossbars that can support 150lbs of gear (when closed, or 75lbs when open), and a pair of new accessory channels that can accommodate items like a 270-degree awning, auxiliary lights, outdoor axes, shovels, or other pieces of gear. Priced at $3,995, the 2022 Roofnest Falcon Pro is scheduled to ship in October of 2021.
