Few places on this planet are quite as sprawlingly void of human life as the Australian Outback. That’s not to say that there’s nothing to see out there – as even the badlands have their sights – but rather that civilization hasn’t yet put the squeeze on nature. And that makes it the perfect place for an off-grid getaway, like Modscape’s Tintaldra House.
This unique home, which basically sits out in the middle of nowhere, boats a single module construction designed around easy maintenance and self-sustainability. For instance, its external walls are built from partially salvaged Zincalume – a sheet steel thats up to four times more corrosion-resistant than its galvanized counterpart. It also features solar panels, a septic tank, and a rainwater collection system. Despite the rugged exterior, the inside of the house is actually quite modern and sleek, with contemporary fittings and fixtures, Oak flooring, and a wood fire heater. And while the property is already spoken for, this is exactly the kind of place we could see ourselves enjoying all year round.
