After all the spy shots and rumors the folks at Mini have finally unveiled the much anticipated Mini John Cooper Works GP.

This beefed up version of the much beloved Mini Cooper recently performed at the world famous Nurburgring raceway, and finished with an impressive time of 8 minutes and 23 seconds, a 19 second improvement over the last Mini GP. This improved time is due in part to several performance upgrades including a race spec suspension and brakes, more power, and weight reduction. No official details have been released yet, but AutoBlog suspects the vehicle will be pumping out about 214 horsepower and will hit the dealers for north of $40,000. The vehicle will be limited to only 2,000 total units globally.
