Mercedes-Benz X-Class Pickup Truck
Usually when we do these types of write-ups, they’re concept cars. Something dreamt up by a designer with a real command of the Adobe Creative Suite. This time around, however, the Mercedes-Benz X-Class Pickup Truck is the real McCoy.
The first pickup produced by the German automotive company was introduced in Cape Town, South Africa – and is set to be released in that country, as well as the European, Latin American, and Australian markets. The higher-end version of the truck will come with a V6 engine that can put out 254 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque to all four wheels through an optional manual transmission. Of course, because it is a pickup truck from a luxury car maker, the car will come with a plush interior. We’re talking a 5.4-inch color multimedia display, an optional leather interior, and smartphone integration. Who knows. If this does well enough maybe they’ll eventually release the truck for the American market.
