Most of the time, no matter how decked out, camper vans still look a lot like camper vans on the inside. But the folks at Supertramped Co. took a very unique, bespoke approach to their Mercedes-Benz T2 they named ‘Ernie’ and gave it the full surf shack treatment.
With the exception of its beachy blue-and-white paint job, ‘Ernie’ looks much like a regular cargo van on the outside. Open the doors, however, and you’ll find a tiny house decked out in real wood from nose to tail and floor to ceiling — giving it a lived-in, beach town vibe perfect for chasing swells. Of course, it’s also fully-featured with modern accouterments and accessories including comprehensive electrics and lighting aided by solar panels; plumbing for onboard sinks, a shower, and a toilet; tons of storage; sleeping and dining areas; and even a skylight. It even boasts a number of smart features including WiFi integration, Alexa compatibility, voice-activated color-changing lights, etc. If you’re a rambling wave chaser, this might just be the ultimate accommodation.
