Despite its military origins, the Mercedes G-Wagen has become a bonafide rolling status symbol over the last decade or two. For customers interested in owning the ultimate high-performance iteration of the luxury SUV, German tuning outfit BRABUS has long been offering highly-up-specced G-Wagens, and for the summer of 2021, the company has unveiled its latest take on the iconic model with the BRABUS 900 Rocket Edition.

Offering supercar performance capabilities in a spacious, SUV package, the 900 Rocket Edition is built around the AMG G63 and is powered by a BRABUS-tuned 4.5L twin-turbocharged V8 engine that pumps out 922ft-lbs of torque and an even 900hp — with the latter figure responsible for the “900” portion of the model’s monicker — and allows for 3.7-second 0-60mph runs and a 174mph top speed. Riding on the tuner’s own adjustable Ridecontrol suspension and a set of 24” Monoblock “PLATINUM EDITION” Z forged wheels adorned in carbon fiber aero discs, the 900 Rocket Edition also comes draped in the company’s new carbon WIDESTAR body kit, complete with custom side flaps, integrated RAM-AIR intakes, a rear diffuser, and a roof-mounted wing. The interior is no less extravagant, with a host of bespoke options and a beyond generous amount of carbon fiber pieces. Limited to only 25 units worldwide, the 2022 Mercedes-AMG G63 BRABUS 900 Rocket Edition will be priced at approximately $680,000.
