Mellow Electric Drive Skateboards

Category: Tech

More than just your average e-skateboard, Mellow is an electric drive system that lets you turn any old skateboard into a full-fledged electric skateboard in a matter of minutes.

The Hamburg, Germany based crew has developed a small 5.5 pound battery that easily mounts to your board. All you have to is remove the rear trucks to install. The high efficiency dual in-wheel motors offer 3 Nm of torque, letting riders hit speeds of up to 25 miles per hour for up to 10 miles on a single charge. If you do find yourself low on juice, all you have to do is replace the swappable battery pack, and you’re back in business. The motor is controlled by a magnetic safety strap that gives you the ability to speed up by pushing and pulling to brake. There are 4 different riding modes, a vibration alarm indicating low battery, and even a USB port to charge your phone on the go. [Purchase]
